Drs. We are committed to keeping you as comfortable as possible during and after your surgery. Our goal is to provide exceptional treatment and compassionate care.

We hope this website will answer some of your questions about oral surgery and help you make informed decisions should you need oral surgery treatment. An oral and maxillofacial surgeon is a highly trained member of the dental profession who specializes in surgical procedures and whose training includes four comprehensive years of dental school followed by a minimum of four years of in-hospital surgical residency. Oral surgeons have extensive training in anesthesia and are thus able to provide IV sedation and general anesthesia (putting patients to sleep) in the office for surgery. Other anesthesia options for surgery include local anesthesia, nitrous oxide analgesia (commonly called laughing gas) and general anesthesia in the hospital.

Oral surgeons do not render services customarily provided by your general dentist such as teeth cleanings, fillings and crowns. General dentists often refer patients to our office for oral surgery treatment; however, you do not need a referral to see Drs. Owsley or Brooksbank.

Our practice offers digital x-rays, which provide more detailed information while using less radiation. We also have a focused field cone beam CT scanner, allowing for viewing in three dimensions. This equipment offers many advantages, allowing for shorter surgical times and more accurate diagnosis.

Our office is located at 33 West Third Street, Cookeville, TN. Call us at (931) 528-6252 for an appointment.
